FAQ's

How long do veneers take from start to finish?
Every case is different but as a guide, the usual smile makeovers can take as little as two to three appointments over a two week period. However, if you have an event to attend, or need them earlier we can converse with our leading laboratory in New York to get your smile with us sooner.
How long do veneers last for?
Porcelain veneers are just like natural teeth and should be brushed and flossed daily. However, we will provide you with after care advice following your treatment, ensuring that your smile stays beautiful and white. Routine dental exams and cleanings are also essential to the preservation of porcelain veneers and many of our patients have veneers going back twenty years plus.
How much are veneers?
Veneers are custom made to correct your unique dental problems, therefore we invite you to book a complimentary consultation to discuss with Dr. Mervyn Druian your feelings and concerns. This allows Dr. Mervyn Druian to assess your smile and devise a suitable treatment plan for you. During this consultation, he will also discuss fees and answer any questions you may have about the treatment. We also offer extended payment options which can be discussed with our friendly receptionists after your consultation.
Can veneers damage the tooth structure?
Here at The London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry we practice "minimalist dentistry," therefore, in the majority of cases, the tooth structure is not at risk. Generally speaking, less than half a millimetre is removed from the front of the tooth, to allow room for the veneer and to make sure the porcelain is strong enough to protect the treated area.
Does tooth whitening damage my teeth?
To our knowledge, no evidence has ever been documented. Recent microscopic research of the thermal diffuser whitening system (the one we use), has shown that there are no changes to the tooth surface from this treatment and we have come across no literature showing any structural changes or irreversible damage to the tooth structure. Dental bleaching has been undertaken safely for the past 60 years.
How long will my whiter, brighter smile last?
Immediately after whitening, your smile may fade ever so slightly, but this is so minimal you probably won’t even notice. The colour will then will remain stable for approximately two years or more. Once again, this is down to your home care, if you’re a smoker or have a tendency to eat and drink heavily coloured foods, your whitening results won’t last as long.
How long does it take to get my teeth whitened?
Usually one appointment of one hour is all that's needed. A further appointment may be required but only in exceptional cases.
